Rihanna is not usually one to keep her style pared down for a big event, but she really kept her cool amongst the sea of chiffon and lace at this years’ VMAs. Sat behind One Direction and next to the gossip-centre that is Miley Cyrus, Ri knew that she’d be focus of many camera flashes but took a gracious step back from the limelight as she was not performing this year – and came out of it looking enviably cool.
Rihanna wore a pair of boyfriend fit jeans with a perfectly tailored upturn, paired with a vintage band t-shirt and some super-high strappy sandals. Of course, even when toned down, it wouldn’t be Rihanna without some diamonds – her fabulous chocker and stacked bracelets kept the look glamorous and grungy at the same time.
