StyleSpiration: What to Wear to African Fashion Week London

African Fashion Week London is one of my favourite events of the year, but whether you're a AFWL newbie or a true veteran, knowing what to wear to attend an event where the finest in African inspired fashion will be drifting down the catwalk in front of you can be daunting.

With shows going on from morning to evening each day, you need an outfit which is both comfortable and bang on trend, bloggers spend the day snapping some of the best dressed attendees, so if you want to get on that best dressed list, stay tuned for some StyleSpiration from UFAB...

Jacket: Innocence Black Leather-Look Contrast Sleeve Blazer £24.99 at New Look Skirt: Blue Aztec Zigzag Midi Skirt £9.99 at New Look Bag: Somerset by Alice Temperley Olive Mini Satchel Handbag in Tan £195 at John Lewis Necklace: Gold Chunky Twisted Chain Necklace £7.99 at New Look Shirt: Bright Orange Sleeveless Silk Top £319 at Moschino

With the weather being extremely unpredictable at the moment, it's always good to be prepared, and this New Look blazer is a great choice because it's light enough in case the sun comes to visit, but also thick enough to shield you from the rain (even if you have to run with it over your head!) The midi skirt is also a great mixed weather choice as it will allow air to circulate but not expose to much flesh to the wind.

There are no rules about smart dressing at AFWL so you can go as casual as you like, but this orange Moschino shirt will add a pop of colour and touch of elegance to any front row. Accessorising with two-tone shoes, a tan satchel and a chunky gold chain ties to whole look together and will secure your place on that best dressed list.
