StyleSpiration: What to Wear to Work When it's HOT

I don't often use capital letters when I write, but I think the current weather in the UK warrants it. Like a lot of working Londoners, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find appropriate work wear which doesn't reduce me to a puddle after a long tube journey, here's some inspiration...

Stylespiration 1 (HOT)

Skirt: Flower Placement Tube Skirt £28 at Topshop, Shirt: White Embellished Shirt £28 at Dorothy Perkins, Bag: Luggage Weston Large TZ Shoulder Bag £260 at Michael Kors, Sunglasses: Ladies RL8108 Black Square Sunglasses £118 at Ralph Lauren, Sandals: Fevola Embellished Sandals £58  at Topshop

This Floral Skirt from Topshop will not only brighten up your day, but is also thin enough to allow any breeze that's around to circulate so you don't get too sweaty, and the longer length makes it office appropriate. A smart shirt like this one from Dorothy Perkins keeps you looking professional without the sweaty armpits. You always need a reasonably sized bag to carry all those work essentials so this Michael Kors tasseled bag is great for throwing all those pens and notebooks in, and don't forget to bring along your sunglasses to shield your eyes from harmful rays.

I would also suggest that you ensure your make up or face cream has SPF so that you're protecting your skin from the harmful and ageing rays of the sun. Last but not least complete your look with a pair of sandals to let your feet breathe (just be careful of clumsy commuters treading on your toes!)

The best place to get inspiration (apart from blogs) is from people on the tube and colleagues, one day this week I actually took my nose out of my novel (Zadie Smith, NW) to have a look at what people were wearing which is what inspired this blog post, try it out!
