Selfridges has revealed plans for its latest retail development: a men’s footwear concept over 10,000 square feet, featuring over 250 brands, bespoke brand boutiques and a made-to-order shoe salon...
We all know the common conception that women love to buy shoes, but it seems that men share this trait too (as we always knew, no matter how much they try and hide it) and most guys will be thrilled at the news that Selfridges are planning to build the largest men’s shoe department in the world.
The space forms part of Selfridges’ Director of Menswear David Walker-Smith’s ongoing Menswear Masterplan for the brand. The new department will opening on 6 November at Menswear on 1, Selfridges London, Oxford Street. The department will feature over 250 brands, with more than 80 being new to Selfridges. From customised sneakers to bespoke Prada brogues.
Prices will range from £25 for Havaianas flip-flops to over £10,000 for made-to-order Tom Ford boots. Exclusive styles will be available from brands including: Lanvin, Versace, Dr. Martens, Marni, Kenzo, Burberry, Trickers, H by Hudson, Tods and McQ. An exclusive capsule collection from luxury brand The Generic Man, comprised of 12 styles, will also be available from the department.
Additionally, Christian Louboutin’s men’s collection will be housed in a dedicated boutique, due to open in February 2013. Pictured above are Jimmy Choo Paisley hi-tops, priced at £550.
