GRM Daily to Launch Film Friday

Now we know film isn't exactly the kind of thing we usually write about here at The Urban Fashion and Beauty Directory, but all's fair in love and culture right?...

GRM Daily to Launch Film Friday

Leading UK underground music site GRM Daily is the epicentre of urban entertainment and culture, it features short form web/TV series and music videos alongside, behind the scenes exclusives and interviews, and also provides media services such as video production, advertising, consultancy and creative strategy.

And now GRM Daily have announced the launch of the 2nd series of, Film Friday On Good Friday (29th March) at 12pm. Film Friday bridges the gap between independent filmmakers and their audiences, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent. Each film that is released will be reviewed and critiqued by a credible panel of industry professionals made up of producers, directors, media buffs and actors.

Film Friday is in association with The British Urban Film Festival, Shooting People and Ameen Dream Entertainment. Hosted by award winning actor Aml Ameen best known for his roles in Kidulthood and The Bill,  the initiative aims to support independent filmmakers nationwide. Speaking about the launch of Film Friday, Managing Director Pierre Godson-Amamoo commented:
“There are a vast number of upcoming filmmakers and production companies who simply don't have a platform to get their projects out there and seen by the right people. Film Friday does both by having these films reviewed by well-established directors and actors alike as well as our huge mass audience. There's also a severe shortage in dramas and films that reflect our culture which is a void that has never really been filled in mainstream media or online. The recent problems with companies like Revolver and HMV along with the decline in box office sales are clear signs that the distribution model for films has changed permanently; showing us all that the future is online.”

To take part, budding filmmakers must submit their entries to filmfriday@grimedaily.com to be considered for the next series.
